Role Overview
We are seeking a curious and driven Sales Engineer to be the trusted technical advisor for our customers. You will be a pivotal link between our sales, technical, and customer success teams, designing and demonstrating solutions that solve real business challenges. Your expertise will accelerate our sales cycle and ensure our customers succeed with Google Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Discover & Design: Partner with the sales team to lead technical discovery, deeply understanding customer needs to design and architect compelling solutions using Google Workspace and Google Cloud
- Demonstrate Value: Deliver engaging, value-driven product demonstrations and technical presentations to key customer stakeholders, from engineers to C-level executives.
- Be the Technical Expert: Act as the technical authority on RFPs, security questionnaires, and proof-of-concept (POC) projects. Your goal should be to become a trusted advisor to customers.
- Bridge the Gap: Serve as the crucial link between customers and our internal teams, translating client feedback into service and solution improvements.
- Build the Playbook: Help build and refine our pre-sales processes, constantly improving how we demonstrate value to our customers.
- Commit to customer success, ensuring lasting value and proactively addressing challenges
What Skills Do I Need?
- Experience: 5+ years in a technical pre-sales, solutions architect, or similar client facing technical role.
- Cloud Acumen: A strong understanding of cloud solutions and architecture fundamentals. Experience running technical discovery calls to have a "follow the wire" conversation.
- On-Premise IT Understanding: Knowledge of traditional IT infrastructure such as Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, file servers, and core design principles. This experience is vital for designing effective solutions to solve customer pain points.
- Communication Skills: The ability to translate complex technical concepts and tailored solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving: A self motivated and independent problem solver who also thrives in a collaborative, remote team environment.
- Sales Cycle Knowledge: Proven ability to manage the technical aspects of a sales cycle, including discovery, demos, POCs and RFPs.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for key client meetings.
- Added bonus: if you have experience in Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace solutions.
