Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic customer focused individual to join our team in the role of Senior Cloud Engineer for Google Workspace.
This will be a hands-on technical role, working with a broad range of Google solutions and cloud tools and offering consultation and advice on Google Cloud solutions to our customers and client base
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, and manage their own schedule, as this is a fully remote position.
As a member of our technical operations team you will report to our COO and work closely with them in this role. Training will be provided on all Google Cloud products and there will be an opportunity for acquiring certification as a Google Deployment Specialist and a Professional Google Workspace Administrator. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to fast track your career as a Google Cloud Engineer. Prior experience on the Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace will be beneficial to potential candidates, but not essential.
On a day to day basis you will work with our clients to deliver solutions and support customers on the Google Cloud platform across a wide range of areas which will include cloud security, mail management, data migrations and identity management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to clients on Google Workspace and Google Cloud Platform.
- Architect and deploy Google Workspace solutions for enterprise environments.
Create and maintain high quality project documentation, including documentation to support the customer post deployment & migration. - Design and implement customer-specific cloud based identity management solutions, e.g. Google Cloud Identity, Jumpcloud.Plan and perform security assessments and implement security reviews for Google Workspace and Google Cloud.
- Attend meetings with Customers, Account Managers and Sales Executives working as a technical expert to deliver advice on Google Workspace and Google Cloud solutions.
- Manage and implement security solutions for Google Workspace and Google Cloud customers
- Provide ongoing support for customers both as part of a project and via support ticketing
- Advise customers on product features and roadmaps for Google Workspace and partner products.
- Managing and performing data migrations from M365 and Google platforms to Google Workspace
- Working closely with customer support teams to resolve issues and implement new Google Cloud features.
Implementing, maintaining, and training clients on the Google Workspace suite of products and services
Key Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Experience in service desk environments.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to convey solutions to complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Enthusiasm and self-assuredness
- Technical expertise with the Google Workspace Platform
- Experience in SaaS/IaaS, specifically Google Cloud Technologies
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- A natural curiosity and experience in applying technology to resolve customer issues
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with a track record of handling multiple customers and streams of work
- Fluency in English
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred qualifications & experience:
- 3+ year experience in IT industry service desk environments, or technical role.
- Strong understanding of Internet & web technologies and protocols: web-tech (e.g., HTTP, DNS, TLS), email (e.g., SMTP, IMAP, POP, Exchange, anti-spam, anti-phishing), networking (e.g., routing, TCP/IP), Identity (e.g., AD, SSO, OAuth, AuthSub)
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Proxy Servers)
- Experience with enterprise OS technologies and management- Windows/Unix/Linux administration
- Experience with one or more of the following programming/scripting languages for automation: Java, C, C++, .NET, Go, Python, shell, Perl, JavaScript.
- Experience with MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MDM, SSO, and LDAP support & configuration.
- Technical expertise with the Google Workspace Platform is desirable but not essential, training will be provided
- Fluency in English is a requirement
